Susan G. vs Planned Parenthood

According to a NPR.org article*, the Susan G. Komen Foundation cut its funding to Planned Parenthood because “it was forced to make the move by a new policy that prevents it from giving grant money to groups that are under investigation.” The article also says the inquiry brought on by Florida Republican Cliff Stearns Chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Investigative Subcommittee, who is looking into whether Planned Parenthood is using federal money to fund abortions. Ok? Great, a foundation for research on something that affects women’s health (breast cancer) cut their funding to another women’s health organization because it is being investigated for doing something women make a CHOICE to do, highly emotional CHOICE at that. The logic is highly confusing.

I say blow it out your ass Susan G. Komen Foundation. If your Foundation was in such a dire need of funds from the pro-life groups, then fine, do what you need to do. It is your CHOICE. If you are all about saving the lives of women then do your research and save the lives of people you CHOOSE to save. Cancer is a horrible thing, and Susan G. Komen Foundation if you want to CHOOSE who gets help, you go right on ahead and CHOOSE who gets help and funding. Remember though, you are making that CHOICE, because that is what all people should be able to do, is make their CHOICES. It’s funny how CHOICE is something we all love to be able to have. Say it with me now, CHOOSE CHOICE CHOOSE CHOICE… I am sensing some hypocrisy.

As for Planned Parenthood, this is a group that can laugh in the face of adversity. Scoff in the face of danger. Planned Parenthood will come back stronger than ever perhaps even ten times stronger than before. Planned Parenthood is the big dog with ninety years of experience behind her belt, which means something. I also know you cannot mess with the big dog.
